If you’re thinking about moving to M Streets, you’re looking in the right place! M Streets is one of the best places for young professionals and young families, which we talk about a little bit in our other videos.  There are some really cool homes here, and there are some great spots to check out for great food, drinks, and things to do. They have everything from bakeries to gyms to bars to restaurants, especially on Greenville Avenue. You’ll find practically anything you’re looking for here.

M Streets has a good mix of historic and newer homes, and depending on location and how close to Greenville Avenue you are, the prices vary.

House #1 –

Our first house is listed at $580,000, which is probably the lowest-priced single-family home you’ll find in this area. It’s located just off of Belmont Avenue, so it’s in a really convenient spot with lots of restaurants and shops nearby, so that’s part of the cost – the location. It has a two-car garage, and it was built around 1998.

It’s also located close to some historic homes down here. It’s a 3 bed, 3 bath, and just over 2400 square feet, putting the price per square foot at about $240. A great option for anyone looking to be in the middle of it all for a good price!

House #2 –

This next house is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath and 2400 square feet. It’s also a historic home, built in 1926. The best part of this home is that, although it’s almost 100 years old, it has been completely restored and renovated on the inside, so there’s lots of cool, modern features inside.

They even have some vintage appliances with the home, if you like the vintage style for your kitchen. It’s also right up against Greenville Avenue, so it’s in a great location with lots to do all around – you’re even within walking distance of some of the well-known spots in M Streets here. There are lots of other historic homes in this area too, so the neighborhood looks nice and is well established.

House #3 –

The last house we looked at today is a Tudor home. Now, don’t be fooled… Traditionally, these Tudor homes are a little older, but these homes are actually fairly new builds! This home was just built in 2012, but it was built to look like an older home, which I love. It’s surrounded by a lot of different styles of homes – Spanish, Craftsmans, and more. M Streets has a lot of these Tudor homes in the area, but this one is great since it’s a more updated version of that traditional Tudor.

This home is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home that is 2700 square feet, and it sits at $750,000. That’s a pretty typical price for a home of this size in this location. We’re two blocks off of Greenville Avenue, and so that’s all walkable from here, which is nice. It’s also really nice weather in this area. As you can see in the video, I do not even have a jacket on, and it’s the middle of January. And, of course, if you ever do run into bad weather, just go with the saying… “If you don’t like the weather… wait a minute.” That’s really true in Dallas!

But back to the house. This is a cool neighborhood, especially if you’re a young professional or you have a young family and still want to be close to everything. Also, if you’re commuting to Dallas for work, it’s a quick shot to the freeway from here, and it’s just about 10 minutes from Downtown Dallas here, granted there are normal traffic levels.

So I’m going to show you one more house at more of the million-dollar level, so let’s check that one out before we wrap up!

House #4 –

This last house is a 4 bedroom, 4 bath, 3700 square foot home. It’s just over a million dollars, and, again, it’s just in a great location. Another thing – don’t be deceived! This is another one of those homes that were built to look old but is actually brand new – built in 2019. It’s also really deep, so although it looks small from the front, it’s actually a full 3700 square feet in there! It’s a pretty cool design!

This home is also located in the historic district of town, which is a plus for a lot of people like me who love the history of a city or town. That being said, there are sometimes some restrictions on what you can do in a historic part of town, which can be a good and a bad thing for some people. So it’s something to keep in mind. But overall, a really cool neighborhood and a great home with a good-sized backyard.

Also, this part of Greenville Avenue is actually home to one of the biggest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the country! People line up all along Greenville Avenue to celebrate, and it’s a big party. That’s a cool thing to be a part of every year, so you’re really close to that on this street.

One other thing to note before we wrap up is that there are condos and apartments in M Streets, so if you’re not quite ready to buy yet, there are options for renting in the area. They are actually building more rentable units right now, so I’m sure we’ll see some of those go up for rent shortly.
