Celina, Texas, is a rapidly growing city of approximately 30,000 people, having tripled in population over the past ten years. The small-town atmosphere and excellent school district make it an attractive suburb for those looking to settle down away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

The median income comes in at around $126,000 – much of which comes from jobs in nearby Dallas. 88% of Celina residents own their own homes – so the property values are strong and the market is very competitive. The cost of living here is slightly higher than in other areas but still reasonable compared to large cities.

The city knows one another, and the low crime rate speaks to its appeal and desirability. The police force is highly respected, and you can feel safe knowing that your community is taken care of by their watchful eye. The downtown area is a hub of activity with coffee shops, boutiques, and restaurants all within easy reach.

Cons: Get Ready For Construction

If you’re looking for something to do, Frisco and Dallas are close enough to drive to for a day trip but do factor in the time it will take to get there. Over time, the city is likely to draw in more development and entertainment, but it is still largely a residential area.

Cons: Location, Location, Location

If you work in nearby Frisco or Plano, you’re in luck! Celina is the perfect commute distance from both cities. But if you work elsewhere, it may be a bit too far – it’s roughly an hour away from downtown Dallas and Fort Worth.

Before buying a home, make sure to factor in travel time for your job (as well as other activities like going to the movies or shopping) when planning your budget. However, location won’t be a factor if you work remotely, and you can take advantage of Celina’s small-town charm.
