The Top 6 Criminally Underrated Suburbs in Dallas Texas

You have probably heard all about the big suburbs in Dallas such as Frisco, Plano, and Garland, but where is the love for some of the lesser known suburbs?

There are suburbs that people that live in Dallas have probably never even heard of and the funny thing is, these are some of the best suburbs in the entire metroplex.

Well, we were tired of these suburbs not getting enough love.

These are the perfect places for families, empty nesters, or really anyone who is looking to buy a home in a great community.

So we are going to go over 6 suburbs that we feel are criminally underrated: Anna, Princeton, Wylie, Lucas, Murphy, and Fairview.

1. Wylie

This charming town, just 28 miles north of Dallas, offers a small-town feel with big-city amenities. Homes are surprisingly affordable, with a median price of $450,000, making it a great option for first-time homebuyers or families on a budget. Education is top-notch, with the Wylie ISD receiving an A+ rating from Niche

2. Lucas

Luxury living awaits in this affluent suburb known for its stunning homes, top-rated Lovejoy ISD (ranked among the best in the country!), and proximity to Lake Lavon. While the average home price of $1,292,000 might seem steep, you get what you pay for – you’ve got close proximity to some of the best country clubs in the DFW and are close to major cities such as Frisco, Plano, and Allen.

3. Fairview

Another gem in the Lovejoy ISD crown, Fairview strikes the perfect balance between affordability and luxury, with an average home price of $705,000.

Don't miss the bustling
Fairview Farmers Market every Saturday for fresh produce and local crafts.

4. Anna

This growing suburb offers a strong sense of community and a welcoming atmosphere. Homes are more budget-friendly, averaging around $379,400, and the B-rated Anna ISD ensures a quality education for your children.

Immerse yourself in the community spirit at the Natural Spring Park, take a swing at the
Hurricane Creek Country Club, or check out some live music at Barnhill Vineyards.

5. Princeton

Step back in time and discover the relaxed charm of Princeton. This quaint town boasts affordable homes, averaging around $324,900, and a diverse student population at the A-rated Princeton ISD.

There are also plenty of new construction opportunities in this area right on Lake Lavon, so finding your dream home may not be such a far-fetched dream in this city.

6. Murphy

Located just 25 miles from Dallas, Murphy offers the best of both worlds – convenience and a small-town feel. Homes here average around $470,000, making it a good value for your money. And with the renowned Plano ISD educating your children, you can rest assured they're receiving a top-notch education.
